Happy Fitness Friday on Black Friday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and celebrated the holiday with family and friends. We had an amazing day of Turkey Trotting, relaxing and eating all the delicious Thanksgiving foods. It's a day of overeating but one with no regrets. Give me all the sweet potato casseroles and pumpkin pie!

I'm going to keep today's post short and sweet so I can get back to holiday break, but let's quickly talk workouts this week. They were a little mixed up due to the holiday but in many ways they were pretty typical. Long run of four miles last Sunday followed by the usual Bodyflow, strength training and more running throughout the week. Thursday's training run was a special one as my husband, sister-in-law and I participated in the Turkey Trot in Chicago. It was a chilly race, but very fun. When there is a beer tent at finish line, how can it not be fun!?

I mixed things up Friday morning while visiting Chicago and took my workout to Barry's Bootcamp. Complete, full body workout led by the Barry's CEO himself, Joey Gonzalez. I had never been to a Barry's before, but in my quest to workout someplace new when I travel, I had to try it out. Verdict: hard, intense but fun. A lot of fun! The concept at Barry's is simple, 25 minutes on cardio/treadmills combined with 25 minutes of strength training on the floor. The red room, as they call it at Barry's, was a fun place to be on Black Friday morning. People up early crazy shopping, I'm up early crazy, working out! Not suprised by that at all.
