Welcome May! It's shaping up to be a busy, yet exciting month and things are just getting started! Between Mother's Day, end of the school year, official beginning of summer and the launch of my new in-home personal training business, Blended Balance Fitness, there is a lot to look forward to this month. I'm also hoping we can see some more warm and sunny days if that isn't asking too much!

Before digging into my mini-goals for May, let's take a quick review of how things shaped up for April.

April's Mini Goals/Action Steps:

~ Continue my gratitude journal throughout the entire month of April.
I have to be real with you all. This has become harder than it has easier. I've fallen out of the routine to do this each morning. I honestly miss it and am not sure why it's been so difficult to restart. While I haven't been writing down gratitudes each day, it's not that I haven't been thinking them. I picked up some Budha Girl bangle bracelets that have actually been a perfect accompaniment to this goal. If you're wondering how bangles help with daily gratitude? Easy actually. The bangles, that come as a set of three, have a duel mindfulness purpose. Upon putting each on in the morning, you set three intentions for the day and when removing each one at night, you express three gratitudes. In lieu of writing something in my journal, it's been the perfect way to acknowldge what I'm grateful for before turning in at night.

~ Determine and outline next steps for creating my in-home personal training business. Continue working with the Small Business Develop center, update logo, register my business, obtain business insurance, develop pricing, and and begin to see clients within the next two months.
If there is any good excuse for any other goals falling short in April, it's this. I've been very much head down the last few weeks prepping for my in-home training business. The LLC is completed, business registered, insurance procured, logo created, pictures taken, website built, pricing developed, I'm almost there! Blended Balance Fitness LLC is so very close to being a real deal!

~ Solidify plans for a weekend getaway for my husband's birthday.
My husband and I visited Louisville, Kentucky for this birthday getaway mid-April and it was perfect!! So perfect! You can read all about our bourbon trail adventures here.

~ Bumping this back up to two books for April...Read two new self-care/self-improvement books by the end of April; reading a minimum of twenty minutes per day before bed.
Done and Done. I read three books in April: Better Than Before, Just Sit and Brave, Not Perfect. I loved each of them! Each a little different but all focused on self improvement and personal development in their own ways. You can read more about Brave, Not Perfect here.

~ Maintaining overall fitness by:
Workout five-six days per week with a mix of yoga, cardio and strength training sessions.
Check, check, check!
Complete the Illinois Half Marathan the last weekend of April.
This one feels so good to mark off the list! I completed my sixth half marathon last week and for not having trained, it felt like my best race ever! Definitely helped that I didn't have to do it in pouring rain as well!
Try out a new gym, Fit4Mom Champaign-Urbana, for April's gym of the month blog focus.
Worked out with fellow CU mommas while checking out Fit4Mom this month and had a blast! You can read all about my experiences here.

~ Attend one or more social/networking event by the end of the month.
Over the course of April, I made it to my Tuesday's Together group and had a couple coffee meet-ups with fellow mommas and women-owned business leaders in my community. I am so empowered and honored to be in such great company and have such wonderful friends!

I'm eager to turn my attention to May for it will be the offical launch of my in-home personal training business, Blended Balance Fitness! It's hard to believe just a few months ago I passed my NASM Certified Personal Trainer exam and now I am embarking on being my own boss as I start up this business! I am beyond excited to take my passion for health and fitness to the next level and help others achieve their own wellness goals. I'm going to be focusing a lot of my attention on my business launch this month while still working to cultivate the habits that I began working on the beginning of 2019.

May's Mini Goals/Action Steps:

~ I've struggled the last couple of months specific to gratitude journaling so I'm changing this goal up a bit. UPDATE: Work on creating a 'me time' routine. This includes but is not limited to meditation time, gratitude journaling, reading and other self-care type items.

~ Ahhh, here it is! A few small things to complete but then I will be officially launching Blended Balance Fitness, LLC into the world the second week of May!

~ Plan a date night for my husband and I, secure a babysitter, and make evening plans/dinner reservations.

~ Read two new self-care/self-improvement books by the end of May; reading a minimum of twenty minutes per day before bed.

~ Maintaining overall fitness by:
Workout five-six days per week with a mix of yoga, cardio and strength training sessions.
Try out a new gym, No Limit Fitness for May's gym of the month blog focus.

~ Attend one or more social/networking event by the end of the month.

Again, you'll notice the above mini-goals/actions look a lot like previous months this year and that is intentional. The way I structured my 2019 goals is to have bigger picture habitual and achievement goals that I can break down each month into smaller more attainable action steps. It makes larger goals launching my business less intimidating by breaking it down into smaller goals that I want to accomplish each month.

Do you have any specific goals, mini-goals, action steps that you are working towards this month? I'd love to work together to keep each other motivated and hold each other accountable. I'd also encourage you to check out my book notes for Your Best Year Ever. This book helped me a great deal in laying out my 2019 goals and the approach I've taken to work towards achieving these goals. Let me know what you've got in store this month and let's rock out our May goals together!
