Hello, June and hello, summer!! It feels like we were just on Spring Break and now, school's out, and we're totally in full-on summer mode over here. May was a busy yet exciting month that seemed to have flown by in a flash. I launched my in-home personal training business a few weeks ago and now I've got some exciting things in the works for June that I can't wait to share more about! I'm looking forward to spending more time with my kiddos while also balancing new opportunities with Blended Balance Fitness.
Before digging into my mini-goals for June, let's take a quick review of how things shaped up for May.
May's Mini Goals/Action Steps:
I've struggled the last couple of months specific to gratitude journaling so I'm changing this goal up a bit. UPDATE: Work on creating a 'me time' routine. This includes but is not limited to meditation time, gratitude journaling, reading and other self-care type items.
Friends, this one missed the boat again and it's so important. I'm keeping this goal top of the list moving into June because I value the importance of creating this habit/routine.
Ahhh, here it is! A few small things to complete but then I will be officially launching Blended Balance Fitness, LLC into the world the second week of May!
I'm thrilled to say that Blended Balance Fitness, LLC was officially launched on May 8th! It's been an exciting few weeks with a couple client consultations in the books and some fun new collaborations, events and workout sessions coming up this summer.
Plan a date night for my husband and I, secure a babysitter, and make evening plans/dinner reservations.
Before I even had a chance to plan a date night for May, my husband took it upon himself to schedule a sitter, make dinner reservations and planned an entire evening out just the two of us. I was so impressed! He even went to one of my favorite local stores and picked me out a new dress to wear for the evening! We enjoyed a great night out, had some delicious food and drinks then hopped on some Veoride bikes for a moonlit ride back home! Perfect date night!
Read two new self-care/self-improvement books by the end of May; reading a minimum of twenty minutes per day before bed.
We're going to count the Call to Courage Netflix special by Brene Brown and say that I achieved this goal for May. In addition to Call to Courage, I did read an actual book, Own Your Everyday by Jordan Lee Dooley. I LOVED it! If you're looking for a fun new read to empower you to step outside of your own shadow, get past perfectionism, overcome outside pressure, be yourself and live your best life, I definitely recommend it!
Maintaining overall fitness by:
Workout five-six days per week with a mix of yoga, cardio and strength training sessions.
If I can just get my morning 'me time'/gratitude locked in like I've got my gym routine dialed in, I will be knocking each of these goals out of the park. I also completed "Murph" which was a goal I'd set for myself back in March.
Try out a new gym, No Limit Fitness for May's gym of the month blog focus.
I visited NO Limit in the beginning of May and had a great time trying out a different CrossFit gym just outside of Champaign. You can read all about my experiences at NO Limit Fitness here.
Attend one or more social/networking event by the end of the month.
May was a super fun month socially. I attended a Favorite Things party with a new group of women-owned business entrepreneurs, my monthly Tuesday's Together meeting, and had a few different coffee dates and collaboration meetings with fellow friends and business owners. So grateful for these connections and friendships that I've created over the last year!
Now it's time to turn my attention to June's mini-goals. It's much of the same as May with a few minor adjustments and additions. Highlights include continuing to work on reinstating my gratitude practice, trying out a new gym for June's feature of the month, and focusing attention on growing/creating awareness of my personal training business. Also because it's summer, I'm adding a new mini goal to do something fun and special with my kids.
June's Mini Goals/Action Steps:
- Work on creating a 'me time' routine. This includes but is not limited to meditation time, gratitude journaling, reading and other self-care type items.
- With the launch last month of Blended Balance Fitness, my goal for June will be client focused (successful client consultations, initial training sessions, group training event/sessions). I've also got a couple group sessions upcoming this month, and a joint event with local blogger The Bride Next Door.
- Plan a date night for my husband and I, secure a babysitter, and make evening plans/dinner reservations.
- Have an 'adventure day' for my kids and I (ideas include: try something different, visit a new place, take a day trip).
- Adjusting my reading goal to one read just one new self-care/self-improvement books by the end of June; reading a minimum of twenty minutes per day before bed. With extra business of summer, I think one new book is an attainable goal.
- Maintaining overall fitness by:
- Workout five-six days per week with a mix of yoga, cardio and strength training sessions.
- Try out a new gym, Infinite CU, for June's gym of the month blog focus.
- Attend one or more social/networking event by the end of the month.
I've got an additional opportunity coming up mid-June that will put me outside my comfort zone but I'm super pumped for it! I'll be sharing more about this in the coming weeks but suffice to say I'll need to put on my BRAVE face for this one!!
