Between being out of town for vacation and hustle and bustle of back-to-school, I did not have an opportunity to explore a new-to-me gym in the community for August. Not to worry, though, I've still got an awesome feature for you this month and it's quite near and dear to my heart!
August featured gym of the month is Blended Balance Fitness! That's right, shameless plug over here, because it's me! I figured this was as good of time as any to share a little more about my small personal training business, the services I offer, an awesome event that's coming up and an exciting new online service that is now available!
I launched Blended Balance Fitness about four months ago and have been rocking and rolling ever since. I've been blessed with a great group of clients that I'm working with on a weekly basis. Each are wonderful and I thoroughly enjoy meeting with them week after week. It's amazing to watch them grow and progress through new challenges session after session! I LOVE getting texts telling me they were able to hold plank for one minute on their toes or requesting specific workouts for our next session. It's been so much fun and we are just getting started!
At its core, Blended Balance Fitness offers in-home personal training sessions for those that find it difficult, unfeasible, uncomfortable, etc to make it to the gym. I take the guess-work out of the common excuses like "I can't find the time" or "I don't like going to the gym because..." and come to you in the comfort of your own home. With little to no equipment, you'll will get a custom workout aligned with your fitness goals in just thirty minutes. As an added bonus, I've built in an additional five minutes to the end of each session dedicated to strengthening our mental muscles. This time includes but is not limited to additional mindful stretches and a brief meditation.
In addition to in-home personal training sessions, I also offer group classes often in the form of a bootcamp or circuit workout. These can take on a variety of shapes and sizes depending on what the client(s) are looking for. Throughout the summer, I've been leading a twice weekly bootcamp for a group of ladies in Savoy that's been a ton of fun. We do two full-body workouts each week for roughly 45 minutes a session. This is perfect for small groups of three or more. Group sessions can be done on a one off basis for an event or outing or on a regular cadence like the bootcamp previously referenced. I love to work with clients to find the right fit and design the workouts to meet the needs of the group.
I'm super excited to include a third offering to my fitness portfolio this month and that is online personal training. This is something I've been working on behind the scenes for a month or two and I'm pumped to share it with all of you!

Each online session begins with an introductory meeting to understand your fitness goals, history and available resources. From there, I will design weekly workouts that align to your goals. The program provides three strength training workouts and a seven-minute cardio focused workout per week. I'll also provide suggestions for additional cardio based on the resources you have available. We'll chat at the start of each week to review the upcoming workouts and talk through any questions or concerns you may have. In addition, you will have access to my training app that has a messenger built in for easy communication through the duration of the program. Each four week session closes with an additional meeting to talk through progress, evaluate and review goals and determine next steps.
As for the awesome event that is coming up....
I'm teaming up with fellow personal trainer Lindsay Brown, owner/creator of The Hidden Gym to bring Saturday Sweat to our community on Saturday August 24th. In addition to a 45 minute full-body workout, participants will be treated to a delicious açaí bowl from Emma Reinbold, owner/creator of Just BEE Acai. And, helping us pull all of this together is another friend and lady boss, Maggie Farchmin, owner/creator of 618 Events. I'm so excited to be collaborating with these ladies to bring this exciting fitness event to life. If you're local, you should definitely join us!
