Hi, I'm Ali and welcome to A Blended Balance.
Using food, fitness, nutrition, meditation and mindfulness, I am on a journey to living a happier, less anxious life. The life I know I was meant to live.
I'm a three time Whole30 grad and often enjoy cooking and eating a Paleo diet when I'm not on a Whole30 round. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy treats (currently a recovering sugar junkie) and a good cocktail so you'll see a little bit of that here too because #balance. But through a combination of Paleo, Whole30 and continuing to find and understand my food freedom, I have better control over how food impacts not only my physical health, but more importantly my mental health.
The gym is my home away from home and a huge part of how I control everyday stresses, worry and anxiety. I love to workout so you'll find me sharing my weekly workouts, fitness challenges and ways I push myself to get out of my comfort zone in the gym. Trying out an unfamiliar gym or a new group exercise class are some of my favorite things to do.
Meditation and mindfulness rounds out the key areas of this blog and are huge components of my journey. Writing in a gratitude journal, meditating to get my mind right and taking time to slow down and be present are so helpful and things that I had long time neglected or was not consistent with practicing.
Self-care, self-improvement, and self-empowerment flow through each of the areas of this site. I consider myself a self-care enthusiast. Give me all the things that will help me to live a better, less anxious and happier life. Self-help books are some of my favorites to read and probably the category of book you'll find me curled up with most often in my recliner.
I have always suffered from generalized anxiety to some degree and with a more mindful and intentional way of living, plus the foods I eat and workouts I do, I am finding the balance that allows me to live less anxious, less stressed and with less worry. It's absolutely not a one-size fits all approach nor a single item fix which I've learned a lot of over the last year or two.
It's a never ending journey but I am glad that it's one that I am taking and I'm glad that you are here with me.
